TOMMY O’BRIEN’S STRAWBERRY BLUE SALAD as created and served at the Mangrove Grill
We use locally grown strawberries throughout Florida’s entire berry
season. This has become a trademark salad for us.
Ingredients:
Fresh mixed greens
Fresh strawberries, sliced
Peeled cucumbers, sliced
Crumbled Maytag blue cheese
Candied walnuts
Button mushrooms, sliced
Roma vinaigrette
Balsamic reduction
Toss the mixed greens and the strawberries lightly in the Roma vinaigrette
(our house made vinaigrette – can sub any mild vinaigrette). On the
plate, place the greens and strawberries; top with mushrooms, cucumbers
and crumbles of Maytag blue cheese. Lightly drizzle the balsamic reduction
over the salad. Finish with candied walnuts.
